About — Nedim Hadrović

A little on who I am.

Nedim Hadrović speaking at Europe House Sarajevo

I entered communications after years in journalism, film, and policy development after seeing that Bosnia, and the Global South at large, had a communications problem. I learned that if we want to build our imagined collective futures, we need to be able to pave the way ahead with confidence.

Since then I have built that road for press freedom organizations, UN agencies, independent newsrooms and a foreign ministry — in Sarajevo, Berlin, Brussels, Amman and Amsterdam. Two master's degrees later, in politics and communication and in journalism and globalization, the work is the same: take a complex rights issue and make it something a person can act on.

A little on where I see myself next.

A communications leadership role where the brand has to stand for something in public — building and running the function, the team and the narrative, not just the campaign calendar. Most of my career has been spent making difficult subjects legible to people who did not ask to hear about them, under real institutional and political constraint.

I keep a hand in production, and I intend to. It is not a side career; it is the reason I know what a brief costs to make and when an agency estimate is wrong.
